JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR PORTFOLIO

This poem was written for me at a journalism conference I attended in Washington D.C. Sitting in the Newseum, I was amazed at the impact media has had. In this setting, I was able to reflect on my career as an Editor in Chief for Reno High's The Red & Blue. Going from a shy girl at the start of high school to someone who isn't afraid to go up and ask questions, my journey as a student journalist has allowed me to flourish into a confident and curious individual. The skills I have gained, whether it be communicating with staff or diving into new topic areas, prepared me for a number of life experiences. This portfolio showcases my best work in student journalism. Enjoy.
